The North Coast Sluggers is a Victor baseball club that is a competitive travel team designed to offer a more challenging and rewarding baseball experience for its players. Victor, NY is located 15 minutes southeast of Rochester. We will compete in 2010 as a 12u team. The Northcoast Sluggers always play with sportsmanship, determination and great respect for our opponents.
The North Coast Sluggers will play in the North Coast Baseball League, which uses the Federation High School Rules including lead-offs, pick-offs and dropped 3rd strikes. The field dimensions are 50’ for pitching distance and 70' basepaths, which are bigger than Little League (46' & 60') and smaller than High School (60' & 90'). We believe these dimensions and rules prove to be very exciting to watch and serve to better prepare players for the next level of baseball.
Additionally the North Coast Sluggers will travel outside of the Rochester area to participate in tournaments in such locations as Mentor OH, Mansfield PA & Buffalo NY. Our ultimate destination is playing at Cooperstown Dreams Park from August 7 thru August 13th 2010. This is an excellent chance for our players to see how they measure up to travel teams across the US.
The North Coast Sluggers main goal is to teach our players a higher understanding of the game of baseball. While games are a component of this goal we take great pride in the fact our practices are highly instructional and structured to improve our player's fundamentals and technique. We use progressive training in both small group and whole team training so we can monitor and encourage improvement in every player on the team. We measure success not by wins but rather by each individual player improvement from the beginning to the end of the season.
